It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not
the poet who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given
us the right to a fair trial, and it is the soldier----who salutes the flag, who serves the flag and
whose coffin is draped by the flag-----who allows the protester to burn the flag.

This is Major Randall Simmons, Jr. He is a hero to all
of us, but especially to my 6 year old daughter (his
niece).  She is so proud of what he is doing and she
misses him so much. When her kindergarten class
was asked to pick someone in another state to write
and mail a letter to, she picked her Uncle Randall who
is currently in Iraq.  She thinks about him every day
and nothing excites her more than to send him an
email or fix up a package to send to him. He is
currently serving with the 48th brigade of the National
Guard in Savannah, Ga. He has been in Iraq for 11
months now and we look forward to his return in May.
We are so proud of what he's doing and pray for his
safe return!

In the photo above is my love, my life, my hero, Lance
Corporal Scott  Sola
of the 1/3 Marines. Scott is my
boyfriend of almost 18 months, and unfortunately has
only been home for about 4 of them, but every one
was so cherished and memorable. Scott was
deployed to Afghanistan in January of this year (2006)
and is coming home in May. I could not be happier to
have him come home, I love and miss him more than
words could even begin to describe. My second hero,
is my big brother, PVT Anthony McKee of the Army
National Guard. Him and I are really close, and he
has always been there for me, and now I am here for
him while he is in Basic and AIT. I love both of my
heroes and cannot wait until I can see them again!

the 4th Infantry Division. Right now my husband is in
Iraq for his second tour of duty. Our son, Matthew,

his accomplishments. I hope he comes home soon. I
love and miss him so much.
This is my fiance, Corporal Adam Cohick, with 1/3 "Lava
Dogs" currently serving in Afghanistan.  This is our first
deployment, and our first real long time away from each
other since we started dating over two years ago, and
we're not letting it get to us!  He joined the Marine Corps
in 2002, and graduated from Parris Island, SC, in
November 2002.  He's based out of MCBH Kaneohe
Bay, Hawaii.  I miss him so much, and I hope he knows
how proud I am of him, and how much I love him!

I'm very thankful for all of the great men and women that
are in the US military.  It's because of them we can enjoy
everything we have today!

Proud fiance of Cpl. Cohick
This is for my husband SSgt Mathew Butler.  I am so
proud to be called his wife.  He is on his second tour
overseas since the war started.  He deploys from this
base every six months and our daughter (2) and I miss
him a lot.  But we are proud of what he does and so
happy that he has stayed safe through his deployments.
We can't wait til we are able to see him again!  Our
thoughts and prayers are with all the soldier serving on
the homefront and overseas.  God Bless them all!

The United States Military has many fine soldiers
currently fighting in Iraq. These are just two of the
many. Here is
SPC Keye Kinnamon (left) and SGT
Nicholas McCahill
(right) they are with 101st Airborne
Division 2/502 Infantry Unit. These "Ghost Face
Killers" are among the many that fight for our freedom.
I am so proud to say that they are apart of my life and I
have had the privilege to get to know the both of them.
These men and many others, deserve all the thanks
and gratitude physically possible for serving this
county so we, as Americans, can enjoy the finer side
of life. May God Bless you during your tour and keep
you safe. Please remember that the soldiers are the
reasons why we have the things we do here in the
land of the free because of the brave!!
God Bless You, and Thank You for doing your job!
Love always,
Elaine
