It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not
the poet who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given
us the right to a fair trial, and it is the soldier----who salutes the flag, who serves the flag and
whose coffin is draped by the flag-----who allows the protester to burn the flag.

Your Heroes
This picture is of my son Arnold Duplantier II.  He died on
June 21st -when a sniper decided to be a coward and
shot him while he was patrolling on the roof of a hotel in
Baghdad.  He will forever be my hero, as well as his wife
and daughter's.  His loyalty to his country and his love for
the children of Iraq prompted him to serve and he died
doing what he believed in.  Although his physical body is
gone, his spirit lives on in our hearts and I see his image
every day when I look at my granddaughter.
I pray for all the other families who have lost loved ones in
this war and that God gives them strength to carry on.

This is my husband Sgt. Peter Slutman. He is on his
second tour in Iraq. He has been there almost one year.
We have been married for over 4 years and the Marine
corp. is a big part of our lives. He is the perfect father to our
daughters. We love him and miss him so much. We are
very proud of you baby. I love you.

This is my brother William H Riley II who has served in the
Army for 20 yrs and who served in desert storm and he just
returned from Afgan. He's standing next to his Daughter
Nicole Riley who is in the Navy
This is our son Thomas M Bishop Jr., age 18.  We are
so proud of him. He just graduated from boot camp at
Parris Island on 11-18-05.
Here is my husband SSG Michael Murphy.  This picture
was taken the day that he deployed. He is currently in
Baghdad, Iraq.  He left in May of 2005 and will be there for a
year long mission.  My husband is definitely a hero in my
eyes because he left behind his family to join the Army
National Guard to do what he believes in and to fight for his
country.  He has served in the Army for 13 years and
decided to re-enlist after 9/11.  He has two beautiful girls
ages 8 and 2 years old. He is not only my hero but my best
friend and husband.  We miss him dearly and support him
100%.   We can't wait for him to come home to us!!
We love you!!

My hero and best friend is my son SK3 Esteban M. Garcia.
Esteban is currently stationed in
Bahrain, a small island off the coast of Saudi Arabia in the
Persian Gulf.  Words cannot express how
proud I am of my son and the job he is doing so far`away
from home.  He is a loving, compassionate
and humble young man and`I thank God every day for giving
me such a truly wonderful son.  We love
and miss him terribly and anxiously await his return home.

This is my big brother SFC William H. Hobgood ("Billy" to
most of us).  He is serving with the US ARMY HHC, 1st
BCT 10th Mountain Division in Iraq right now.  He is
expected to be there for at least a year and left in July
2005.  He has also served in Saudia Arabia, Kuwait, Haiti,
and Bosnia in the past.  He has had to sacrifice so much
by leaving his wife, Kelly, and two daughters, Shelby and
Skyler here in the United States.  Just being there and
serving for our country makes him hero enough for me!!  I
love him and miss him so much....."Thinking of you while
your away, for your safe return we pray!"  Be careful and
come home soon.  I Love You Billy!

This is Specialist Hernandez - We are now stationed in Ft
Bragg, NC. He belongs to the 37th Engineers and I must
say THEY ARE THE BEST ENGINEERS anyone can ever
meet and be proud to belong to. We have been here for
almost 4 years. He served in Aphganistan for 10 mths
when the war first started. This picture of him and our
family is of when he came home from his deployment. It
was such an exciting day. We were all so proud of them.
His unit is due to go back for another tour but we wont be
around for this upcoming deployment since he got orders
to Ft Richardson in Alaska. We're exciting to be going. He
is such a great friend, husband, soldier and father. He is
my best friend and no one makes me smile like he does.
We love you honey and we are so proud of your hard work
and sacrifices and all of your accomplishments. Keep up
the good work - we're behind you all the way HOOOOAAHH
