It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not
the poet who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given
us the right to a fair trial, and it is the soldier----who salutes the flag, who serves the flag and
whose coffin is draped by the flag-----who allows the protester to burn the flag.

I would like to submit a picture of my hero, my husband, PVT
Matthew Brougher
. This picture represents our ARMY
STRONG Family! Matt just joined the Army in October 2007 at
the age of 30. He wanted to provide a better life for me and
our 2 beautiful girls, Mattison, 6, and Kaylee, 3. He finished
Basic right before Christmas 2007 and right now is at Fort
Gordon, GA in the Signal Corps. AIT until May 2008. Our
children have a true American Hero to look up to! We all miss
him very much, but I have more respect for him than I ever
have for doing this.
God Bless all the men and women who serve here and
overseas! You are TRUE HEROES! Freedom is not free!
Thank you all!

Jeannie K. Brougher
This is  my husband, SPC Bradley Strait , of the U.S. Army.
He’s currently stationed in Ft. Riley , KS , but in the middle of a
15 month tour in Iraq . This is Brad’s 3rd tour. We thank him
for all that he does, and could never imagine our lives without
him. He is a great son and a wonderful husband. I miss him
terribly. I can’t wait until he comes home on mid-tour so I can
get those kisses! A webcam and phone calls just aren’t the
same thing. I love you Bradley and am very proud of you. You
are my hero!

Yours forever….Amy

Our hero  is our son, SSgt Nicholas Phelps. We are so proud
of the fact that he did a tour of duty in Iraq. He did what he
thought was the right thing to do for our country and we can't
tell you how very, very proud we are. We will finally get to see
him for Christmas and couldn't be happier! God bless all the
service people no matter where they are serving in the world.

Love you Nick, Mom, Dad and the rest of the family.
