My Soldier’s Mom

My child, you glow in uniform
In pride I live, my heart so warm

I have such precious thoughts cascade
Some old, some new, not one will fade

How hard that day we said good-bye
The joy, the pain, etched in my eye

You left to serve our Country well
My perfect one, my tears did swell

No better soldier could there be
For in my love, that’s all I see

Oh how I pray for you each day
Be safe, be well, God guide your way

I keep your Home in wait with me
Your Mom will guard it faithfully

How great the day when you’ll return
We’ll talk and talk, night-lights to burn

My Soldier’s Mom, is who I am
While you do proud, for Uncle Sam

My Mother’s Soldier

I think of her in treasured ways
Of all those years through watchful days

She nurtured me to grow up proud
Now that’s a fact I’ll shout out loud

Her awesome love wells deep inside
Her magic gift will never hide

I know she thinks of me a lot
She always will, her lesson taught

I thank you God for all she is
My friend, my guide, my total wiz

What does my mother mean to me?
Look in my eyes, she’s there to see

My Mother’s Soldier, yes I am
While I stand watch for Uncle Sam

Don’t ever doubt who is the best
Her care exceeds the toughest test

Army Wife
by Dana L. Self

This is for the young women that are waking up at 6
a.m. every morning, laying out clothes and packing
three lunches for those small precious children that
they have been left alone to care for.

This is for the pregnant Army wife wondering if her
husband will make it home in time to watch their
miracle happen.

This is for the childless Army wife, living in a town
or on a base alone where she is a complete stranger to
her surroundings.

This is for the women that feel like a third leg when
they go out with their friends and their husbands.

This is for the Army wife that canceled all her plans
to wait by the phone, and even though the phone broke
up and cut off every time you spoke to him, you waited
anyway.

This is a pledge to the women that cry themselves to
sleep in an empty bed.

This is to recognize the woman that felt like she was
dying i~side when he said he xad to go, but smiled for
him anyway.

This is for tjose of you that are faithfully in that
long line at the post office once q month, jandling 2
large boxes and 2 small children like a pro.

his is for that woman that decided to remodel the
house to pass time, and then realized that0she had no
idea what she was doing and sighed and wished she had
a little help.

This is for all the lonely nights, all the one-person
dinners, and all of the wondering thoughts$because y}
haven7t heard from him in days.

This is for the sad Army wives, the angry Army wives,
and tle strong Army wives.
A0toast to you for fallinw apart, and putting
yourselves back together. Because a pay check ksn't
enough, a body pillow in youz jed is no consolation,
and a web cam can never co}pare.

This is for all of yow no matter hw easy or hard this
was for you> Our soldiers are brave,`they qre heroes,
but so are we. So the next time someone tells you that
they would never marry an Army guy, don't bother
explaining to them that you can't control who you
fall in love withn Just think of this and0nod your
head, know that you are the stronger woman. Hold your
heads up0high, hang that flag in your front yard,
stick 100 magnets on your car, and then give yourself
a pat on the back.

Be proud to be the woman that you are, be proud to(be
an Army wine.
My Marine Has Got Your Back

I am a young American girl, with a
boyfriend soon to go.
There are times I'm terrified in a way
most never know.
I bite my lip, and force a smile as I
watch my boyfriend pack.
My heart may break, but I am proud ~
My Marine has got your back.

I am a Marine. Serving Proudly,
standing tall.
I fight for Freedom, yours and mine by
answering this call.
I do my job while knowing, the thanks
it sometimes lacks.
Say a prayer & I'll soon come home ~
It's me who's got your back.
The Seabee

This man I call a friend
is one that's there till the end
You've got a powerful stride
it's filled with American Pride

When you left I shed some tears
but it doesn't compare to your fears
I would watch the evening news
hoping to see you in your dress blues

I prayed you'd come home
with out a broken bone
You put your life in danger
so we could have freedom forever

You defended our nation
without any hesitation
Where ever your duty might be
you'll always be my friend, the Seabee

Sunshine
|br>
This has been a joyous day
What else can I say

Tears of joy; oh boy
Ships coming in
Sailors home again
Trees with yellow ribbons all around
Can be seen from Nashville down town
Ole Glory waves high in the sky
Like the eagle when he flies
The sun shone down what a beautiful day
To welcome the troops Hip Hip Hurrah
Streams of joy, streams of peace
Everything is now complete
What a day this has been
We're going home again
